In the last 10 months, Campfire Critters has taken in 49 additional animals putting our total at over 80. This is the reason we moved to Willowdale Farm, to continue our mission to provide a safe landing and forever home to animals in need. Now that we are settled and most of the farm construction is complete, we are opening our doors and inviting you in to enjoy the farm, see the animals, learn about the rescue, and have some fun. Join us on Sunday June 5 from 1-4pm for pony rides, petting zoo, cow encounters, pig belly rubs, bounce house, vendors, wagon rides, face painting, and more! This is a free event, but donations- monetary, feed, or supplies- are always appreciated.

About Us

Campfire Critters Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue dedicated to providing a loving, forever home to animals in need. We are located at Willowdale Farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Run by the Gedicke and Peck families, Campfire Critters started at a campground in Hayes, VA in 2016 when the campground started adopting barnyard animals in need of a new home.  As our herd grew over the years, we decided our animals needed their own dedicated organization.

We achieved our non-profit status in 2020 and relocated from Hayes to Willowdale Farm in Fredericksburg in June 2021.

Campfire Critters Animal Sanctuary is currently home to 5 horses, 5 mini horses, 7 donkeys, 2 alpacas, 2 llamas, 3 goats, 1 sheep, 3 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, 10 barn cats, 10 cows, 34 mini pigs, and 1 farm pig.

Farm tours are now available!

Follow us on Facebook to help support our rescue efforts and stay up to date on sanctuary animals, farm improvements, and farm tours.

Thank you for your support as we continue our mission to provide animals with a loving, forever home.
